WELL CHECKS

A personal care assistant will go to your loved one's home to see if he or she is able to come to the door.

If your family member is home, we will spend up to 45 minutes visiting with him or her and complete a 20 point safety inspection.

We can perform small tasks if needed. If there is an obvious medical emergency, we will activate 911.

If your loved one does not come to the door or if there appears to be a problem (such as multiple days' mail, newspapers or packages at the entryway), we will notify you and activate 911 if appropriate.

In addition, we can provide phone checks to increase social interaction and support. 

ERRANDS

A care assistant will run errands as needed including: 

• Transporting personal items including mail, clothing, phone chargers, etc. between home and a hospital or care facility

• Making arrangements for pets

• Delivering checks, money orders or packages to physical addresses

• Watering plants, alternating lights, emptying trash, tidying the kitchen and restocking the refrigerator

• Other tasks that might help you or a loved one stay safe and connected to others

ORGANIZATION

A professional assistant will help to organize appointments and set up reminders on a wall calendar and/or Google document which can be shared with the client's permission.

In addition, we can transcribe medications and discharge instructions to a spreadsheet or poster board for the client to see more easily. 

We can also help sort and shred mail, organize and file bills and important papers, and tidy the refrigerator and cupboard.
